Shell and LuxRED announce a collaboration agreement to develop the Dommeldange service station site
As part of a program called Shell Go Vertical (SGV), the multinational has organized a call for applications to develop the constructive potential that exists above most of the service stations in its network. The first project under consideration is the service station at 2 Rue de Beggen, Dommeldange.
The project is based on the creation of an overhanging slab that covers all the functions related to the operation of the service station (pumps and store) to enable the development of a quality residential project without interfering with Shell's activity.

Commenting on the signing of this collaboration contract, Olivier Bastin (Founding Partner LuxRED) said: " This project is completely in tune with the times. To meet the growing need for housing in the Grand Duchy without covering the Luxembourg countryside in concrete, new solutions have to be found. Exploiting buildable surfaces located above already built-up land in urban areas is an intelligent response to a problem that is both ecological and economic ". Aurélie Frédureau (Founding Partner LuxRED) adds, "This project confirms what we firmly believe: the real estate sector needs to reinvent itself. We're delighted to be working with Shell on an innovative concept that aims both to achieve a virtuous densification of the existing urban fabric, and to produce a supply of quality housing".
Pol Christophory (Managing Director Shell Luxembourgeoise): "Shell is delighted to be working with LuxRED on the redevelopment of the Dommeldange station. With this project, we can respond to new mobility behaviors, while contributing to the creation of quality housing in the capital by making optimal use of space".
The transaction was coordinated by international broker CBRE.
